I research the impact of religion on understandings of national narratives and imaginaries, national belonging, and nationalism/patriotism. I particularly look at the affective mediations and embodiment of protest, religion, and citizenship.

My work also explores material religion, digital religion, civic activism, and the role of religion in the construction of race.
